On 24th April 2024, the Government launched Help to Grow: Management Essentials, a free online course designed to equip small business leaders with practical advice and resources essential for success.

Small businesses form the backbone of local economies across the UK, playing a pivotal role in driving economic growth and innovation. Recognising their importance, the government has taken a significant step towards empowering small business leaders with the launch of Help to Grow: Management Essentials, a new online training course tailored to meet the needs of SMEs. This short course serves as an introductory version of the comprehensive Help to Grow: Management programme, allowing even more small businesses to access valuable insights and tools to facilitate their growth journey.

Help to Grow: Management Essentials is free, with content divided into three easy-to-access modules consisting of short videos and supporting resources covering the essential business concepts required to unlock growth. Business leaders of newer or smaller SMEs who are keen to explore the fundamentals of business growth and management leaders can access the course through the Help to Grow website. By providing practical tips and resources, this course empowers entrepreneurs to establish a solid foundation before embarking on the full 12-week management programme.
